Solution

How do Business Rules help me with these problems?

Several factors are necessary for successful data monitoring: There must be a continuous search for deviations and errors. In case of problems, actions must be triggered directly, without any time delay. In addition, it is important that all data monitoring is flexible enough to be suitable for all data, processes and companies and can also be adapted quickly without code.

All data & processes
Our Business Rule Engine supports all types of data in your SAP system. No matter if EWM, WM, PP or other modules. All areas of SAP and even any custom developments or extensions from partners can be used.

Constant & automatic monitoring
Business Rules can run whenever you want. An easy to use scheduler interface enables you to choose days, timestamps and intervals. By running constantly and automatically in the background, your data is monitored at all times, not just when someone is looking at a dashboard.

Calculations & KPIs
Without code and in just a few seconds, simple KPIs can be calculated, stored and compared. Based on these, further actions can be triggered.

With the help of ready-to-use notification elements and connectors, actions can be executed directly so that problems and discrepancies are resolved immediately. Be it notifications to Microsoft Teams, Slack and Email, the execution of webhooks and ABAP calls or the handover to other systems like Splunk or PowerBI: Almost all scenarios are supported.

Every process, and therefore every company, depends on correct data. Even if companies already monitor their data, we discover time and again that data errors lead to lengthy troubleshooting or even stopped processes/production.

Business Rules can react to changes in your SAP data, detect discrepancies, and send emails, Microsoft Teams notifications, or push messages to your smartphone.

Be notified at any time or start processes whenever SAP data is missing, incorrect or has changed.
Share data with other systems

Suitable for all SAP data and processes
The Flexus Fiori App for Business Rules is independent of SAP modules or Flexus products: Any logic can be created and data can be processed.

In the Fiori app, all Business Rules can be customized or new ones can be created. Completely without additional ABAP development.
No data leaves your system
Everything runs within your SAP System on ABAP. No additional installation or system is required. No data goas outside without you knowledge.

Getting started

Our approach to projects

We usually divide projects into three phases: In the first phase, we explain everything you need to know about business rules and implement the SAP transports together with your IT. In the second phase we go into details and run a set of standard business rules on your system. Finally, we prepare you to create your own business rules in order to become independent from Flexus and to be able to implement your own, new ideas with business rules.

More use cases

How does Flexus use Business Rules internally?

Over the last few years, we have built up a set of hundreds of different business rules in the SAP modules EWM, WM and MM, and many more. Whenever we start a new project, we use business rules in different ways to make the project implementation as fast and smooth as possible:

  • Monitoring of the customizing settings in the hypercare phase
  • Targeted monitoring of key master data required for production-critical processes
  • Targeted monitoring of production-critical processes
  • Intercepting implausible transaction data to fine-tune processes and customizing

For all these applications we have ready-made Business Rules that can be run directly on any ABAP system. Afterwards they can be adapted and used by the customers themselfs.

Here is a list with more use cases

These examples are only intended to give you an idea of the types of Business Rules that are possible. Of course, all of them can be combined, configured and modified in any way.

  • Check error logs and send a message to person 'Y' in case of error code 'X'
  • Constantly monitor bookings. If field 'X' has either no value or a value greater than 'Y', post this booking to Slack for review
  • Jede Ă„nderung in einer Customizing Tabelle protokollieren und bei Bedarf per Email weiterleiten
  • Log every change in a customizing table and forward by email if required
  • If the sum of records that are in status 'X' is greater than 100, notify the person in charge, as this indicates a problem
  • Regularly send an overview of truck waiting times at the gate to the control center at the end of the shift
  • If a booking or truck registration is still in status 'X' at the end of the shift, notify the gate immediately
  • Save the current state of the most important customizing settings every hour to better understand the settings in case of problems.
  • Notify the project team when changes have been made to important settings
  • List all implausible data records, for example with too high or missing values
  • Show all outliers in a data set, e.g. work steps that took significantly longer than normal. Send them out via Mircosoft Teams
